Acoustic Research Aw721 Manual
I purchased an AW 771 set in 'as is' condition which on arrival produced output only from one side. Repair was effected by removing 8 phillips screws, 4 from each side, concealed under the ear-surrounding doughtnut-shaped cushions. To expose those screws, the ear cushions must be pushed from their center toward the outside. Black screws in back holes surrounded by black acoustically-transparent cloth does not make them obvious.
I used a volt-ohm meter to find a discontinuity at a failed solder connection. Resoldered that connection, rechecked electrical continuity to be certain all connections were good. Tested with batteries installed using an audio input. Both sides produced sound. Replaced screws and they have performed very well since then.

Setup Set up is really easy, just plug them into your stereo or AV receiver with a Y cable and you're set to go. Pairing the headphones to the base takes just seconds. Comfort For me, the ear cups are too shallow. Your ears get pressed into the cup, making them hot and uncomfortable for long periods. Sound Quality The sound is OK.
Tuning can be touchy, so it really depends. Bottom Line If you need wireless headphone and don't want to spend a lot of money, these will do. I've seen them at quite reasonable prices on ebay.
