As music artists, you get to travel to many countries. What is your main concern when you perform in foreign places? Kalafina: Recently, we've travelled to many countries we have never been to before. We were worried whether people would attend our concert.
But when we arrived, a lot of people came to greet us. And when we performed, the crowd showed a lot of expressions and actions, more so than those in Japan.
Did you know there are a lot of Thai fans? How was it, meeting them at AFA?
Kalafina: This is our first time in Thailand, so we are really excited and looking forward to how happy our fans will be when we perform tonight. How do you feel about your first visit here? What do you love about Thailand? Kalafina: We really love Thailand’s hot weather, because the warmth is good for our skin and voices. Moreover, we feel the sky in Thailand is clearer and higher than in Japan, giving us the impression the sky is very spacious.
We also went to the supermarket yesterday and loved the 100% fruit juice, because fruits in Asian countries are delicious. We also ate Thai food, fried bananas (note: called 'kuay tord' in Thai), which we first thought were fried potatoes and were really delicious dipped in honey.
It made us wonder: are fried bananas a popular dish in Thailand? Fried bananas are usually the favourite food of office workers. Kalafina: Wakana, who has visited Thailand before, had only previously seen the bananas in small sizes. But the ones we saw yesterday were large, as big as potatoes, so we were amazed. We hope Japan will sell them in the future as well. What is the best thing about being singers? Kalafina: The best thing about this career is meeting a lot of people around the world.

What do you think of singing as three people instead of as individuals? Kalafina: It’s really hard. First, we have to synchronize our breathing. Also, when we sing we combine our feelings and voices as one, so that we sing with the same emotions.
