New menu screen loaded, then tried to connect to my router wifi and message “Serious problem has occured, need to reboot” click to continue, I clicked and the box rebooted to the spinning logo, then instead of loading the menus, rebooted again. Think my T8 is bricked? I purchased my T8 V2 from Droidsticks around 16 months ago. Last night I decided to update the firmware for the first time from new.

I watched the video on the T8 v2 firmware download page which shows the firmware update process. I first installed the gt.recovery.reboot.apk app onto my T8 box which went successfully. I downloaded the firmware from the T8 v2 link provided to my PC. I put a 1gb SD card into my PC and formatted it using Fat32.

I then loaded the 5 files from the downloaded firmware onto the SD card. I explored the SD card to check all 5 files were present (I made sure the zip file remained unpacked). I then put the SD card into the SD slot in my T8. I powered down the T8 using the power button on the front, I then held the reset button in (I felt and herd the click of the reset button as I carefully pressed it in using a paper clip). Continually holding in the reset button I then pressed the power button again to power the T8 up again. I momentarily got a flash onscreen of the Amlogic Mail450 S802 logo I continued holding the reset button waiting to see the little green robot appear onscreen as my firmware was loading and updating, but nothing happened. I continued holding the reset button for nearly 10 mins thinking it should have started installing by now.

My fingers were starting to ache by then from constantly holding the reset button. Nothing was happening so I let go of the reset button. I then tried turning the power button on (without holding the reset button in this time) but the box would not power up. I pulled the mains lead out from the back of the box, plugged it back in and tried to turn the box on again with the switch but still no joy. I removed the SD card USB adaptors, tried turning on and still no joy. All I am getting when I put in the power plug in the back of the box is the red glow round the power button and nothing else. If I press the button to try turn the box on all I get is a red glow around the optical port on the back of the box.

Pressing the power switch again the red light of the power switch lights up and the glow around the optical port goes off. This goes round in circles with the box never powering up. I no longer get the blue glow on the power button or time on the front display or the word boot showing.

Hi, I’m trying to perform latest update and I have an empty sd card installed and I’ve downloaded the latest T8 v2 firmware and upon attempting to copy across from the T8 to the card via filemanager HD it states an error that “currently Android 4.4 does not allow 3rd party applications to make modifications to external Sd cards” so I’m unable to copy the T8-AML-V2 zip or the recovery.img file.
