Thanks for the update, something i would like to share here, note that an atheros drivers not only support a single driver but support lots of atheros adapter, say the link i gave to you, if you open the INF file, just scroll down and you will see the list of the supported adapter.

To manually select which adapter to use, using update driver in device manager - advance - don't search let me choose. have disk - browse and select the inf file in the driver folder, then untick the 'show compatible hardware' you will see more than one driver available. You may experiment with that too but make sure to make restore point first. I'll be waiting for your updates.
