Was able to unlock and reinstall latest firmware to my Virgin Australia Huawei E1762 HSPA USB Modem while visiting India and then use local Indian sim card on my 3G WiFi Modem to get net access, this was a great help. All up took approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour including removing the bloatware dashboard, which I had to google around for a bit as the link to the dc-files website is obsolete and the dashboard file wasn’t quickly identifiable for my device. Tested and USB stick worked on Airtel and Vodafone. So permanently unlocked, rebooted and now online.

This will also benefit me when I head back home and also when travelling to other countries now. The robots are coming.
